Cabin Fever

Railfans, is cabin fever setting in? Are you tired of being cooped up at home with no trains to watch? Sitting in a house watching videos or webcams just doesn't quite get it now, does it? There's nothing like the live sound of diesel engines working, and cars rolling along behind them as a train passes by. Wouldn't it be great to sit in a warm toasty room with large picture windows and big comfortable chairs where you could watch numerous trains roll across a graceful stone arch bridge? Add to this, a side view with more trains entering & exiting a busy railroad yard, and a wide flat screen monitor actually showing you the train locations! Sounds too good to be true, right?

Winter Birding at The Bridgeview B&B

Birding through the seasons in Pennsylvania
Birding activity at the start of our calendar year depends largely on the severity of the winter. The hardiest of birds remain in January. Topping the list, resident birds are juncos, chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, finches, song sparrows, blue jays, a few woodpeckers, the ever-present crow, hawks and Bald Eagles. Some game birds, such as the Ring-necked Pheasant, Ruffed Grouse and Wild Turkey, also stay with us and some ducks may linger around or even reside the whole winter, provided there is open water. Birding in January can still be enjoyable and rewarding.
From wildlife of all sorts to the gorgeous scenic backdrop of Central Pennsylvania's Blue Mountains, The Bridgeview Bed and Breakfast is a nature lovers dream! The Bridgeview provides several different indoor and outdoor ways to observe nature's beauty for that photo op or to leisurely sit and gaze the day away. We feature comfortable rooms all with private baths, Wifi and a delicious breakfast. Visit our website for a virtual tour, and be sure to look at all of the guest comments on Trip Advisor .
