The dirt will be flying Opening night at Port Royal Speedway on Friday, March 13th and Saturday March 13th, 2026 and every Saturday thereafter. This Speedway is one of the oldest, operating racetracks in Pennsylvania. The half-mile dirt track opened in 1938 and hosts a weekly schedule of sprint car, late model and pro-stock dirt track racing. Several national touring series visit the track, including World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the All Star Circuit of Champions.

Denny's Lennies Restaurant, Halifax, PA

In 1937, Vans Restaurant was opened and operated in Halifax PA, with Weight Scales and Gas Pumps. In 1947, it was renamed LENNIES RESTAURANT and remained Lennies until 1992 when Denny Williams of the Famous WILLIAMS FRENCH FRIES (established 1945) opened the restaurant as Denny's Lennies. With their awesome, home cooked menu and Famous Williams Fresh cut French Fries, you will not leave hungry!!!!

A short 60 mile trip from The Bridgeview Bed & Breakfast is the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville PA where you can tour the site of America's Oldest Brewery. Discover the hand-dug fermentation caves used for storage before refrigeration. This tour is a unique "hands on" walk through type, not "behind glass". Generally tours are at 11 am & 1:00 pm, check the website for details.
15 miles south on Route 61, is Port Clinton PA where you can get a hearty meal at the Port Clinton Hotel, known for their delicious hamburgers!
Port Clinton is also the headquarters and shops of The Reading & Northern Railroad.
3 miles south of Port Clinton is Hamburg PA home of Cabelas incredible sporting goods superstore. If you have never been there, it is worth a visit just for the experience.
